Rules

In general the FIL rules will be used during the Rhinocup only with some adjustments as you can find below.

The Teams
There are max 15 players on each team but only 10 players from each team are on the field at one time.

These are:
1 Goal keeper
3 Defensemen
3 Midfielders
3 Attack men

During the game there can only be maximum 4 longsticks running on the pitch and at least 3. Each team must have a captain. Mr Captain is the only player who can have a talk with the ref during the game, without getting a penalty.

The Game
Group stage
Each game consists of two halves, both 20 minutes in length. A stop clock operates for the last two minutes of each halve. Team change end at the conclusion of each halve. Between halves there is a 5 minutes break. Each team is permitted to call for one time-out per half, with each time-out being 90 seconds in length. If a team wins they get 2 points, when its a draw 1 point and when it loses his game it will recieve no points.

Finals

The womens final consists of 2 halfs, each 30 minutes in length. A stop clock operates for the last two minutes of each half. Teams change end at the conclusion of each half. Between halves there is a 5 minute break. Each team is permitted to call for two timeouts per half, with each time-out being 90 seconds in length.

The Mens final game consists of four quarters, each 20 minutes in length. A stop clock operates for the last two minutes of each quarter. Teams change end at the conclusion of each quarter. Between period 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 there is a 150 seconds break, between halves there is a 5 minute break. Each team is permitted to call for one timeout per quarter, with each time-out being 90 seconds in length.

After this we know the winners of the RhinoCup 2014 and the this years runners up.

The Field
The playing field is +/- 100m (100 yards) long by +/- 55m (60 yards) wide and is grassed. Normally they play official Soccergames on these pitches. The goals are 1.8m (6ft) high by 1.8m (6ft) wide, and are in red with white nets.

Face Offs
Play starts at the beginning of each quarter, halve and after each goal with a face-off at midfield. Players facing off may not kick or step on the opponent’s stick but may use any other type of face-off technique to gain possession of the ball.
The two players on the wing area are released to take part in the play when the whistle is blown but all other players at both ends of the field must remain behind the restraining lines until possession has been signalled by the referee.

Shot Out of the Bounds
If a shot is taken on goal, the team who is closest to the ball when it went out of bounds is awarded possession.

Ball Out of Play
When a ball goes out of play the last team in contact prior to the ball going out of bounds loses possession. Play resumes with a whistle.

Checking
Body checking of another player is legal as long as the opponent is in possession of the ball or is within 2.7m (3 yards) of a loose ball or if the ball is in flight within 2.7m (3 yards) of the player.
